Michael Banh, AMFT
Michael Banh, AMFT
Therapist

Do you feel like no one gets you? Like something is wrong with you? That you’re too much but also not enough? Mike knows the pain of feeling misunderstood and broken and the exhaustion of trying to fit in and prove your worth. He is passionate about walking alongside others through their pain and struggles and offering them hope in the midst of their brokenness. He believes that people who hurt and struggle need someone who cares and understands them instead of quick fixes and easy answers. As a fellow struggler, Mike wants to provide a space where people are free to struggle without fear of shame or judgement.

Mike is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor at Fully Health. He has a Bachelor’s in Religious Studies from UC Riverside and a Master’s in Counseling from Western Seminary. Mike has also completed biblical counseling coursework through the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation and is a Bible geek. Outside of counseling, he is an active member of his church and enjoys connecting and hanging out with friends, dancing, cooking (and eating good food, of course), staying fit, being outdoors, a good podcast, laughing, and spending as much time as possible relaxing.

Rika Lopez, LMFT
Rika Lopez, LMFT
Licensed Therapist

Hi, my name is Rika Matoba Lopez and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in CA providing exclusive telehealth (online counseling) to adults and couples. I completed my Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage Family Therapy at Azusa Pacific University in 2009. I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) and am registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences with the State of California. I am also a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Candidate (CSAT) with IITAP (International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Therapists) in which I have training working with Couples Betrayal Trauma, Sex/Porn/Love/Relationship addiction for both men and women. I have over 10+ years of experience in working with a variety of different therapeutic approaches such as Attachment based, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Meditation/Mindfulness, and Faith Based Inner healing modalities.

Although my specialty is focused on Sex Addiction, I am not limited to only working with this population but also individuals who battle with severe depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/bereavement, parenting issues, boundary setting, and relational conflicts.

As a CSAT candidate, I also have the privilege to provide high quality, research based assessment tools for problematic/compulsive sexual behaviors, trauma, and addiction interaction. Below are some of the assessments I provide.
  • SDI 4.0 (Sexual Dependency Inventory) This assessment gathers data on various aspects of problematic sexual behavior such as typical patterns of consequences, evolution/timing of behavior and thought patterns. Some of the specific areas evaluated are drug use, masterbation, paraphilias, and internet usage behaviors. The SDI addresses 144 different sexual behaviors which is essential when treating a complex process addiction such as sex addiction.

  • SDMI (Sexual Dependency Media Inventory) This assessment focuses on sexual media such as apps and pornography that has impacted your life and personal relationships. We also look at areas of compulsion, mutation of sexual tastes, and isolation that has affected the individual.

  • PTSI-R (Post Traumatic Stress Inventory Revised) This assessment focuses on how trauma has impacted a client’s life. The results are broken down into 8 categories showing specific ways in which trauma has affected an individual’s current functioning.

  • IPAST ((Inventory for Partner Anxiety, Stress, Trauma) This assessment examines the betrayed partner’s traumatic reactions, family of origin, resiliency, and attachment styles.

  • SAST (Sexual Addiction Screening Test) The SAST is designed to assist in the assessment of sexually compulsive behavior which may indicate the presence of sex addiction. This tool provides a profile of responses to help discriminate between addictive and non addictive behaviors as it was developed in cooperation with hospitals, treatment programs, private therapists, and community groups.

Knowledge gives you power so do the right thing by collecting information about your problematic behaviors. This will help you see your issue with fresh eyes that will give you a greater understanding of your root problem.
